CITIC welcomes a delegation from Huawei to explore joint collaboration opportunities

A delegation from Huawei visited the University of A Coruña for a working meeting to analyse possible opportunities for joint collaboration, centred on data analysis and sustainable development.

The Huawei delegation visited the Information and Communication Technologies Research Centre (CITIC), a member of the CIGUS Network, an initiative launched by the regional government (Xunta de Galicia) that groups together centres of accredited scientific excellence within the Galician university system. There, they held a meeting with Javier Pereira, CITIC’s assistant director; Javier Garrido, Head of Transfer and Innovation, and Cristina Villar and Marta Trueba, from the centre’s International Projects Unit. CITIC research team members Amparo Alonso and Luis Castedo were also present at the meeting.

A number of technical meetings were held at CITIC during the course of the morning, which addressed possible alliances in the application of data management and transfer techniques in various productive sectors, and the impact of data management on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). After the meetings, the delegation toured CITIC’s facilities.
