atlanTTic, a University of Vigo institute (UVigo), is a CIGUS Network research centre and receives funding from Galicia’s autonomous government (Xunta de Galicia)

Galicia’s three public universities and the Regional Ministry of Culture, Education, Vocational Training and Universities (Xunta de Galicia) have signed two collaboration agreements for research activity and funding for the Research Centres in the Galician University System (CIGUS).

The Regional Minister highlighted that “in the last three years the Research Centres of the Galician University System (CIGUS) have achieved truly remarkable results, with a positive impact of close to 80 million euros in competitive projects involving just under 1800 active researchers. The successes of Galicia’s research centres confirm that these centres are the greatest driving forces for our R&D&I projects”.

Specifically, the University of Vigo’s accredited research centres are set to receive around 1.4 million euros in funding from the autonomous government (Xunta de Galicia) in order to drive the region’s ICT sector. AtlanTTic, a member of the CIGUS Network, will receive around 300,000 euros.
