CiMUS participates in an AECC-led initiative to consolidate cancer research knowledge

Mabel Loza, Scientific Director at CiMUS, a member of the CIGUS Network, an initiative launched by the regional government (Xunta de Galicia) that groups together centres of accredited scientific excellence, yesterday took part in the ‘AECC-SEBBM Session: where we are and where we are headed in cancer research’. During her intervention, Mabel Loza stressed the importance of the groundwork in order to fully comprehend key mechanisms, but also the essential role played by pre-clinical research, an area that still requires addressing in full in Spain.

The session was held within the context of the 46^th edition of the Spanish Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology that was held this week in A Coruña. It featured 15 speakers with varying profiles, ranging from research to the media, institutional and patient representatives, in order to provide an integral vision of cancer and state-of-the-art oncology research.
