The CIGUS Network attends the INORMS 2025 Congress, the world’s largest transfer manager event
May 12th, 2025
The CIGUS Network was present at the latest edition of the Congress of the International Network of Research Management Societies (INORMS) held in Madrid on 6, 7 and 8 May, together with more than 2000 research management professionals.
This event is considered to be one of the world’s largest meetings of managers of research entities. This year’s edition, with the theme “A sustainable profession in a sustainable world”, was hosted for the first time in the Spanish capital by the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA), the leading European network for research managers with over 9000 professionals.
During the three days of the congress at IFEMA, dozens of conferences and round tables were held, in which various topics were discussed related with the research environment and the training of research management professionals. Among others, the key lines of the event focused around improving research management and administration services (RMA), governance and regulation, knowledge exploitation, open science or transnational collaborations.
This event, which welcomes research managers from all over the world, was an opportunity for CIGUS to weave collaborative networks, improve strategies and be up-to-date on the latest tools to strengthen R&D&i centers and entities, to ensure excellence and shape the future of research.
Fernando Casal, CiQUS’ International Affairs and Knowledge Transfer Manager who attended the event, states that “participating in iNORMS 2025 was a good opportunity to exchange experiences with research managers from all over the world, learn about good management and professional development practices, and strengthen collaborative networks with other host institutions”.
The congress also featured a poster session presenting innovative ideas, works that reflect the good practices of research managers and administrators from around the world, which serve as inspiration for attendees.
In addition, among the different activities of the program, current debates were also addressed, in line with the program of activities that we carry out from the CIGUS Network, such as the responsible use of artificial intelligence, ethical and responsible research and the implementation of inclusion, equality and diversity (EDI) in research and innovation projects.
