PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION POLICY NOTICE: PRIVACY POLICY
By means of this notice, the GALICIAN ENTERPRISE-UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION – hereinafter FEUGA – informs USERS of the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM hosted at www.cigus.gal of its personal data protection policy so that USERS may freely determine whether they wish to provide FEUGA with their personal data that may be requested or obtained following subscription or registration with any of the services offered by FEUGA on the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM or the platform itself.
The applicable regulations stipulate a series of obligations, as well as individuals’ rights regarding the protection of their personal data. In order to ensure their full and correct knowledge thereof, and, where appropriate, the execution of the rights to which they may be entitled, USERS are urged to read this notice carefully.
FEUGA reserves the right to modify this notice for the purpose of adapting it to legislative or judge-made law, as well as to industry modifications or practices. In such cases, sufficient notice shall be provided of any changes to the data protection policy and when they shall be fully enforced.
FEUGA may only access the personal data provided voluntarily by USERS. n this sense, USERS must be aware that in order to subscribe to and register with the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM, complete the request for information or USER contact, or subscription to our newsletters, they will be asked to provide personal data. They include data that are essential in order to access the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM and benefit from certain services and contents. Regarding the personal data provided by USERS, they may only be processed automatically and passed on in the manner and for the purpose determined and specifically authorised by USERS. In this sense, the aforementioned data shall be included on a file that is owned and is the responsibility of FEUGA.
The object of collecting, processing and passing on the personal data provided by USERS to FEUGA is the execution of all the activity related to the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM, with particular reference to the management, development, administration, provision, updating, personalisation and improvement of the services and contents included therein that USERS may make use of, the statistical study of the services and contents used, as well as USERS’ tastes and preferences.
Likewise, as part of the aforementioned objective of developing and carrying out the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM activity, questionnaires, information and notices, etc. related to FEUGA, its services and contents, shall be sent to the suppliers thereof by various means via the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM. Under no circumstances shall the sending of surveys and forms oblige or commit USERS to respond to them.
The legal grounds for processing are based on FEUGA’s legitimate interests (regarding the sending of communications reporting the Foundation’s activity and the functioning of the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM and its applications), and the agreement or subscription to services (and their management; as well as the consent given for specific instances (which may be withdrawn, thereby preventing the continuation of processing). USERS’ data may also be used for the purpose of compliance with FEUGA’s various legal obligations.
Pursuant to the legislation in force, FEUGA has adopted all the necessary measures and techniques to maintain the required level of security for the personal data processes. Likewise, it has all the necessary means within its scope to prevent as far as possible all unauthorised access, thefts or illicit modifications or loss of data. Notwithstanding the above, USERS shall be informed and warned via this notice that said measures are not infallible or impenetrable and therefore FEUGA cannot accept any liability whatsoever for such practices.
USERS are entitled to access, rectify, delete, limit and oppose as well as exercise their right to portability by writing to the following address: FEUGA, Rúa Lope Gómez de Marzoa s/n (Campus Vida), 15705 Santiago de Compostela, SPAIN. Alternatively, they may send an email to the following address: feuga@feuga.es , in either case, they must clearly state “Privacy Policy” and enclose/attach a copy of their ID Card or official proof of identification.
Whenever USERS are asked to provide personal data via the TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM, the corresponding access to the information included in the Privacy Policy shall be provided.
The data shall be kept for as long as necessary for the use and provision of the contracted or subscribed services, and, in relation to the newsletters, until cessation thereto is requested (this may be made by sending a message to feuga@feuga.es).
In the case of specific operations, such as processing enrolments, USERS must give their specific consent to the processing of their data by checking the corresponding box on the dropdown or downloadable forms.
Consent thereto may be withdrawn at any time by sending a message to feuga@feuga.es. Likewise, a complaint may be lodged before a data protection authority (in the case of Spain the Spanish Data Protection Agency [Agencia Española de Protección de Datos]) should USERS detect any inappropriate processing of their data.
In all cases, and without prejudice to the above, FEUGA’s personal data protection policy shall be subject to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation and Organic Law 3/2018 of 5th December on Personal Data Protection and Digital Right Guarantees or any other regulations that may replace it.
