The scientific careers of Cristina Gómez and Sara González, CRETUS researchers, are recognized by the Royal Galician Academy of Sciences

The RAGC and the Intercontinental University of the Enterprise (UIE) recognize the scientific careers of Cristina Gómez and Sara González, researchers at CRETUS, through the RAGC-UIE Awards for Young Researchers. CRETUS is part of the CIGUS Network, an initiative promoted by the Xunta de Galicia that brings together centers in the system that have accredited their scientific excellence.

Through this award, the RAGC-UIE aims to promote scientific research in Galicia by recognizing and supporting the careers of young researchers working at centers in the Galician community, thereby contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge as a driver of progress.

In the field of Social Sciences, the award went to Cristina Gómez (Social Psychology, Basic and Methodology at USC) for her work in political psychology, collective action, and human behavior in contexts of social and political crises, as well as her work on the social perception of environmental issues, which she conducts at CRETUS.

In the field of Technical Sciences, Sara González (Chemical Engineering at USC) received the runner-up award for her extensive work in areas such as circular economy, environmental footprint studies, and sustainability analysis, using life cycle analysis (LCA) methodologies in industrial, agri-food, urban, and forestry systems. Sara has an impressive research and knowledge transfer track record, being included in Stanford University’s Top 2% of most-cited researchers.

In addition to the CRETUS researchers, awards were also given to Beatriz Pelaz (CIQUS) and Belén Riveiro (CINTECX).
