The USC CIGUS Network centers open their doors to the public for the eighth edition of Ciencia Singular
November 25th, 2024

The USC centers belonging to the CIGUS Network, an initiative promoted by the Xunta de Galicia that brings together institutions that have demonstrated scientific excellence, are once again opening their doors to the public on Saturday, November 23, for the eighth edition of Ciencia Singular. This year’s event includes some new features, most notably the addition of CRETUS (Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Environmental Technologies), which joined the CIGUS Network this year, alongside the centers already part of the initiative.
From early morning until sunset, people of all ages visited the facilities of CiQUS, CiMUS, CiTIUS, IGFAE, and CRETUS to learn, directly from researchers, about the cutting-edge work conducted daily at these centers. The day’s program is available on the website cienciasingular.usc.es.
In an engaging and accessible way, through outreach talks, guided tours, workshops, and experiments, hundreds of visitors discovered the research being carried out in areas such as chemistry, intelligent technologies, molecular medicine, physics, and environmental technologies. Ciencia Singular is an initiative aimed at fostering scientific vocations from an early age and highlighting the importance of the work conducted in these centers throughout the year.
